Also, thank you to everyone who showed their support by coming to our Feb. 9th Fundraiser- over 700 people attended and we were thrilled with two $25,000 donation checks from Basil Chevy on Transit Road and West Herr. Once again, we are overwhelmed by the wonderful support from our community, thank you!

Update 1/8/2013: Another interview with updates (see below).
Update 1/5/2013: The Depew Boys & Girls Club has found a TEMPORARY HOME!! The club will be temporarily located at 591 Terrace Blvd., Depew. This space will be available for all our normal club hours: Monday -Thursday 1-8p, Friday 1-6p and Saturday 11a-3p. All basketball schedules will remain the same as far as practices and games. For pick up, parents can park on the Marengo side of the building. (if you are looking at the building it is on the left) and access the door on that side of the building. Thanks to the kindness of the Depew School District and especially Superintendent Jeff Rabey. This is the old Terrace School building located literally one block away from the club. Buses will drop kids off in front of the building. Our area of the building will be very close to there so you will see us. This will take some adjusting but please be patient. Superintendent Rabey has assured us that he is there to assist us in any way that we need. Also, we would like to thank the head building and grounds keeper Jon Wilson who will be our contact for any questions or concerns. Parents, if you have any questions please see a staff member the first day of pick up for assistance. There is NO PHONE service in the building for us. We will work on that issue as we settle in.
Clean-Up: We have been absolutely flooded by people wanting to help with cleanup, building etc. At this time, we have been told by insurance and inspecting agents that it will take at least 2 months to get anywhere with damage assessments. In the meantime, we have been told not remove or touch anything that is in the building. We are keeping a log of all who have offered help and what they can do and when it is time we will contact those individuals or post on this website the things that we need. It is going to be a very long process. Within the next week we will be compiling a new "Wish List" as we adjust to our new surroundings. Obviously, the biggest way to help is with monetary donations and fundraising efforts at this moment.
Fundraising: In regard to fundraising events, we appreciate everyone's efforts and willingness to give your time, services and money raised! At this time, the Staff and Board of Directors are working towards official fundraisers through the DLBGC, and while we are happy to promote your fundraiser for the Club, we are unable to assist in any way with planning, money, services or otherwise at this time. We must follow specific corporate regulations in regard to raising monies that affect the Club. With that being said, we will make every effort to attend outside fundraising functions, and are happy to post your event on our webpage and you are welcome to post your event on our Facebook page. To submit your event to the website, please email all information on your event (including a flyer, if applicable), to: fundraisers@depewlancasterbgc.org. This is the only way to have your information posted on our website! Your efforts are greatly appreciated by the Staff, Board and all of the youth that will benefit from your efforts.
Calendar: We are currently having issues with the calendar through our website and will notify you once this is resolved; once the calendar is up and running again, all fundraising events will also be posted there.
Other Info: If you have any questions or need information that you do not see posted here, please call 683-6755 and we will return your call as soon as we can.
We again want to say THANK YOU to everyone in the community who has helped, offered to help or have just been there to support us in the past few days. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Update 1/2/13: Thank you to everyone for your continued support and phone calls! To make a monetary donation to the Depew Boys & Girls Club to help with the losses sustained in the fire on 1/1/13, you may donate at any local Key Bank (just specify that you are donating to the Depew Boys & Girls Club), or donate online though a secure account at http://www.youcaring.com/other/help-the-depew-boys-and-girls-club-/38231#.uom-yrpb_ps.twitter Donations through YouCaring.com can be made with PayPal or by using a major credit card and 100% of proceeds will go to the DLBGC.
Also: All kids that take the bus to the club should resume so . They will be dropped off at the Lancaster Club where our staff will be there for daily activities. Basketball practices will be cancelled this week. However, games that are currently scheduled for Saturday will go on as planned. Our 5th and 6th grade teams that were supposed to play at home at 1:00 vs Springville will still play Saturday, location and time TBA and we will get that info out as soon as we know.
